Oh...... The Places We Go

It is time to share with you the desinations we have travelled to during 2019. When we think about the Travel Trends for 2019, mutli-generational travel, small group touring, adventure travel and river cruising comes to mind. Looking ahead, we believe wellness will impact our travel decisions. We all need to take some time out for ourselves to re-energise and this can be achieved at the destination of your choice.  Please keep us involved as you make your holiday plans for 2020 and beyond.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year for 2020.

Bev, Anna and all at Wentworth Travel

Anna visits the Maldives

Anna recently visited four island resorts in the Maldives, accompanied by our partner who is an expert on all things Maldives. What a stunning destination it is - everything you see in the pictures is true. Aqua blue water with bright white sand and luscious vegetation. It is a destination suitable for those who want to relax while enjoying outdoor water activities. The resort marine biologists also provide you with an understanding of the geography and environment surrounding the islands. Perfect for taking your family, a multi-generational family, a honeymoon, or just escaping from reality.
1. Stay in an overwater bungalow
2. A minimum of 4 nights recommended in each resort if you want to change
3. Engage with your butler they can add so much value to your holiday as they know EVERYTHING going on in and around the resort.

Bev tours Portugal

We love our small group travel and we are planning or more tours in 2020. Portugal and France were a great success everyone loved it and of course they all want more tours to other destinations with Bev at the helm. We had a very happy and successful trip to India with Jeannette Lloyd Jones and Jeannette is planning another tour for 2020. It is such fun being in a small group with like minded people.. Having professionally organised tours by our incredible local agents along with the local guides we have certainly makes a difference and everyone enjoys learning the history and different cultures of the destinations.
We are planning more for 2020 – a wellness and lifestyle weekend locally and a wine & garden tour to New Zealand. Do register your interests so we can keep you informed.

Lionel's African Safari

Lionel recently explored Cape Town and the beautiful Singita lodges in Kruger National Park and Sabi Sands in South Africa and Pamushana in Zimbabwe. Each of the lodges have their own unique character and style.
His recommendations are:
- a sunrise hike up Lion’s Head in Cape Town
- going on a boat safari at Pamushana to view the elephants’ watering hole and hippos
- looking for the only white lion in the African wilderness in Kruger National Park

Edwina takes time out in Mykonos

Edwina and her husband had a short minibreak in Mykonos before attending a family wedding in the UK.  They flew Qatar Airways which flies direclty into Mykonos from Doha.  This made the trip just SO easy - immigration and customs were cleared in about 15 minutes and then another 15 min later they were in their hotel, enjoying the view from their plunge pool.  There are so many different destintions that different airlines are now flying directly into so you don’t’ have to transit through big airports so often.

Gabrielle visits India and Cuba

Gabrielle had an incredible experience in India – it was above her expectations. Organised by our wonderful Indian agent  Shanti who has now helped us with three successful tours. So much history to see. Gabrielle also visited Cuba and especially loved the vibrance of the colours and the people.  A great destination to add to your list.

Angela Graesser relaxes on a river cruise

Angela loved the Canals of Burgundy with Uniworld who offer a wide range of river cruise itineraries throughout Europe. Many of our clients have enjoyed their trips this year with Uniworld who provide a high level of service.
Here is Ange chatting up the Chef who was giving everyone a cooking lesson!

Barry explores the Amalfi Coast

Barry recently made a trip to southern Italy, visiting three very special hotels, the Casa Angelina at Praino on the Amalfi Coast, the Garden Villas Resort on Ischia and the Therasia Resort on the Volcanic Island of Sicily. It was a trip of stunning sea views, more shades of white (the buildings) than you can imagine, excellent service, wonderful  food and, of course, a great Italian welcome.
From the cliff top Casa Angelina to the beautifully manicured gardens of Garden Villas & Resort  on Ischia and the stunning views from the Therasia, the service was excellent and there were many opportunities for viewing, exercising or just relaxing. A great place for couples, families and singles.
Barry's Tips
- Explore The Amalfi Coast before breakfast to avoid the terrible traffic
- The Trattoria ‘Da Armandino’ in Praino is a hidden gem for casual well priced dining
- Take a water taxi from Casa Angelino  to Da Armandino for 30 Euros. Why wouldn’t you?

Sandra Visits Brazil

Sandra loved Brazil as a destination. It surpassed all her expectations. Rio is a vibrant city and she always felt safe. Sandra enjoyed walking around the main tourist areas and attractions along with the entertainment and the options for food. Sandra's tip is to ensure you book good quality tours as it is the best way to experience the culture and sites.

Hector cruises with Viking

Hector embarked on a Viking Cruise "In search of the Northern LIghts" commencing in Bergen and ending in London. Viking is a beautiful understated ship with a classic Scandanavian feel. It is an adults only cruise line with all amenities included. The cuisine is excellent with warm and efficient service from all the staff.
